ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Today's 98.3 TRY Social Dilemma came from Mellie and it's about sleepovers. Here's her email. Get the latest news, weather, sports and entertainment delivered right to your inbox! Hi Jaime. Here's a dilemma for you. My daughter is turning ten in two weeks and she wants to have a sleepover with five of her friends. One of her best friends is a boy who has been to sleepovers in the past, but my husband is saying that now she’s too old to have boys stay over. It’s not an unreasonable position for him to take, but our daughter is devastated. I’m conflicted on what the best thing to do here is. What’s the etiquette? What’s the age at which little girls can no longer have sleepovers with their friends who are boys? What would you do? Hope you can help. Thanks.MellieHmm, this is a tough one. But I do think since it's only one boy, and they've been best friends for a while, I would let him stay over. He would have his own sleeping bag or his own spot on the floor,...Siena Poll: Migrants, Biden, Trump, and Hochul

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A new Siena poll released on Tuesday gave insight into the recent influx of migrants, migrant resettling, Gov. Kathy Hochul and President Joe Biden's ratings, and the recent indictment for former President Donald Trump. According to the poll, a majority of voters see the influx as a "serious" problem, with Hochul seeing a new high in unfavorable ratings. Get the latest news, weather, sports and entertainment delivered right to your inbox! Migrants54% of voters say the recent influx of migrants to the state is a "serious problem." A 46-32% margin says that migrant resettling in New York over roughly the last 20 years has been a "burden" and not a benefit to the state. A 58-36% margin of voters say New York state residents have done enough and should work to slow the flow instead of working to assimilate migrants into New York. “New Yorkers – including huge majorities of Democrats, Republicans, independents, upstaters and downstaters – overwhelmingly say th...Ask Amy: Wife gains a husband, husband gains weight

Dear Amy: My husband and I have been married for nine years. When we were newly married, we had the luxury of running after work and hiking on the weekends. We did not have a lot of stress.Fast-forward to two kids, a home, careers, and a life out of balance — and my husband has gained about 60 pounds.I am not judging him, as I completely understand the problem of stress eating, aging, and having too little time to work out.I’ll love him no matter what.My issue is his health. I’m terrified of him having a heart attack or a stroke. He is a smart guy and knows he needs to lose weight, but the problem is that he won’t try.He eats bags of cookies, brownies, and fast food. He refuses to go to the doctor because he says he “needs to lose weight first,” but he won’t make the effort to do so. He hasn’t had a physical in more than seven years.I cannot bring myself to tell him that he really needs to lose weight, as I don’t want to make him feel worse than I know he already does.I’m guessi...How many MEPs will each EU country get in 2024?

I entered the club as a man I didn’t know was leaving.“That was Cy’s therapist,” Rose said. “Cy had him come and watch a few deals.”“No more couch-coach sessions,” Cy told me in the lounge. “My guy watched one deal and said he had my problem solved.”Against Cy’s four hearts, West had led a diamond. Cy lost a finesse with dummy’s queen, and East’s club shift gave the defense three more tricks.“Your shrink watched one deal and diagnosed you?” I asked.“He told me I don’t have any complex,” the Cynic said in a tone of relief. “He said I really am inferior.”LAST DIAMONDCy’s play certainly was inferior. Cy must grab the ace of diamonds, take the A-K of spades, lead a trump to dummy and return the jack of spades, pitching his last diamond. If West wins and leads a fourth spade, East can ruff dummy’s ten, but Cy overruffs, leads a trump to dummy and returns the ...Horoscopes Aug. 22, 2023: Ty Burrell, turn a negative into a positive

LONDON (AP) — Chelsea has loaned out of one of its most talented academy prospects amid another transfer window of big spending by the Premier League club.Lewis Hall, an 18-year-old left back, joined Newcastle on Tuesday on a season-long loan deal that includes an obligation for the Saudi-controlled northeast club to make the transfer permanent based on performance-related criteria.Hall, a boyhood Newcastle fan, was named Chelsea’s academy player of the year for the 2022-23 season. But he is deemed surplus at Chelsea, which has spent more than $400 million on new players in this window to take its total outlay in the first three transfer windows in the new regime under Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital beyond $1 billion.Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has Ben Chilwell and Levi Colwill as options at left back in a season when the team has no European involvement.“Me and my family are Newcastle fans, and for me and my brother growing up, it was drilled into us that we were Newcast...Pakistani Taliban militants have ambushed a military convoy in a border region, killing 6 soldiers

PESHAWAR, Pakistan (AP) — Pakistani Taliban fighters ambushed a military convoy in a former militant stronghold in the country’s northwest near the Afghan border on Tuesday, triggering an intense shootout that killed at least six soldiers and four militants, the military said. The attack took place in South Waziristan, a district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, the military said in a statement. It said four insurgents were killed when troops returned fire, while two other militants were wounded. The military said a search operation is underway in the area in an effort to hunt down the attackers.Mohammad Khurasani, a spokesman for Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan or TTP, claimed responsibility for the attack. The Pakistani Taliban are a separate group but are allied with the Afghan Taliban, who took over Afghanistan in August 2021, following the withdrawal of U.S. and NATO forces from the country. The takeover emboldened the TTP, who often carry out attacks near the Afghan border and el...Latest news
