BRENTFORD, England (AP) — South Korea forward Hwang Hee-chan scored twice as Wolverhampton took full advantage of Brentford’s defensive mistakes to secure a 4-1 win in the Premier League on Wednesday.Wolves followed up its win on Sunday over Chelsea by collecting another festive three points. It was a first victory in London in 15 attempts for Wolves, the last coming in a 2-0 win at Tottenham in February last year. Nathan Collins’ back pass to the Dutchman was under-hit and, barely 10 seconds after the r...

Wetter, then Colder

Published Sat, 22 Feb 2025 09:36:40 GMT

More weather changes are on the way, south Florida. First will come the last batch of rain for the year. Then, on its heels, a push of much cooler air is coming. These two weather events will originate from two separate systems which both have their sights on our region. On Thursday, an area of low pressure coming out of the Gulf of Mexico will bring a surge of rain showers and wind. It will be a damp day with the potential for many areas to pick up an inch, or more, of rain. Once the rain tapers off (which may take awhile on Thursday, until later in the day) we’ll watch for an approaching front from the north. It’s a strong cold front that will bring both drying and a 10 to 15-degree temperature drop. What’s unique about the upcoming cold weather pattern is how long it’s going to persist. So far this season, it’s been common for quick “cold snaps” that last 2 or 3 days and nights. This time? The cool connection will hold for nearly...

By NICHOLAS RICCARDI (Associated Press)DENVER (AP) — The Colorado Republican Party on Wednesday appealed that state’s supreme court decision that found former President Donald Trump is ineligible for the presidency, the potential first step to a showdown at the nation’s highest court over the meaning of a 155-year-old constitutional provision that bans from office those who “engaged in insurrection.”The first impact of the appeal is to extend the stay of the 4-3 ruling from Colorado’s highest court, which put its decision on pause until Jan. 4, the day before the state’s primary ballots are due at the printer, or until an appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court is finished. Trump himself has said he still plans to appeal the ruling to the nation’s highest court as well. The U.S. Supreme Court has never ruled on Section 3 of the 14th Amendment, which was added after the Civil War to prevent former Confederates from returning to government.
