The Dallas eighth grader didn’t always feel prepared, though; like most students during the pandemic, Lee fell behind on his work and struggled to keep up. It wasn’t until his school implemented online tutoring programs that he received the help he needed.“The pandemic really affected Bryan’s formative years,” says Michael Lee, Bryan’s father. “Middle school is tough and I tried helping him as much as I could at home, but we needed professional help.”It’s no surprise that challenges resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic have included a decline in K-12 students’ academic scores overall. In 2022, the Biden Administration launched the National Partnership for Student Success to combat education decline by supporting virtual learning and tutoring programs. Soon afterward, the Texas Education Agency launched the Vetted Texas Tutor Corps, through which approved tutoring providers coul...

PARIS (AP) — Kylian Mbappé’s twice-taken penalty moved him one goal behind Michel Platini on France’s all-time scoring list as Greece was beaten 1-0 in European Championship qualifying on Monday. The win gave World Cup runner-up France a fourth straight win without conceding a goal in Group B.It also gave Mbappé 54 goals over the season combined for France and Paris Saint-Germain to beat the overall mark set by the late Just Fontaine in the 1957-58 season — the year Fontaine set an individual scoring record with 13 goals at the ’58 World Cup.Mbappé almost turned provider when his cross from the left was headed wide by Randal Kolo Muani midway through the first half. That allowed the Greeks to settle easier on a humid night at Stade de France, and coach Gus Poyet’s side started to look comfortable bringing the ball out from the back.Another fluffed chance from the French saw defender Jules Koundé volley straight at the goalkeeper from Kingsley Coman’s cros...
