Two-Vehicle Crash near Hall Street and Elowin Avenue Led to Arrest of 17-Year-Old BoyVISALIA, CA (August 29, 2023) – Late Sunday morning, a stolen vehicle crash near Hall Street led to the arrest of a teenage suspect.At around 11:00 a.m., officers were searching for a vehicle with a stolen license plate attached near the intersection of Hall Street and Elowin Avenue.Upon finding the vehicle, an officer approached the teen, who refused to follow police orders and instead fled the scene.After speeding off, the suspect ran a stop sign and collided with another vehicle. The teen then exited the vehicle and fled the scene on foot.He was later found at the 1600 block of North Central Street and was booked for suspected hit-and-run and several other charges. (KRON) -- Chabot Elementary School in Oakland was on lockdown Tuesday morning due to a bomb threat, the Oakland Police Department confirmed. The school was cordoned off with yellow police tape and officers from several agencies and K-9 officers are deployed at the school. (KRON) -- A 15-year-old boy was arrested on Saturday in Alameda in connection with an attempted carjacking in the 1300 block of Sherman Street, according to the Alameda Police Department. Alameda PD dispatchers received a call at around 6 p.m. reporting an attempted carjacking. At the scene, officers located the victim and several witnesses, according to police. Officers ascertained that the victim had been sitting in their car when the suspect approached them and pulled them from the vehicle.
